Four Lakers Recognized With SUNYAC AOW Honors

Sarita Charap of Ocean City NJ was recognized by the State University of New York Athletic Conference as an Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 18.

Charap-of the field hockey team-was named Field Hockey Defensive Athlete of the Week after recording a 2-0 week. The Ocean City, N.J. native had a .833 save percentage in 150 minutes in goal, tallying 10 saves, while helping the Lakers improve to 4-0 on the season.

Harvey-of the field hockey team-was named Field Hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week after scoring the game-tying and game-winning goals to keep Oswego perfect. With less than two minutes left in regulation play against Elmira College, the junior found the back of goal for the score to tie. Then in double-overtime, Harvey went on to notch the sudden-victory tally to send the Lakers past the Soaring Eagles.

Geyer-of the woman's soccer team-was named Women's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week in a 2-0-1 week for the Lakers. On Tuesday, Geyer scored the game-winning goal against the then-undefeated Alfred University Saxons in the 75th minute. Later in the week, the Liverpool, N.Y. native scored the game-tying goal in the match versus St. Lawrence University. With less than 25 seconds remaining in regulation, she beat the goalie with her dribbling and proceeding to loop the ball past her.

Siegfried-of the women's soccer team-was named Women's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week in which she recorded two shutouts versus Alfred University and Clarkson University. The Mattituck, N.Y. native made eight saves while playing nearly 300 minutes in goal. With her performance on Friday, Siegfried moved into the top-10 rankings in both wins and shutouts in school history.
