Kathleen Kratz interns through SUNY Oswego

2014 Apr 15

Kathleen A. Kratz of Whitney Point took part in an internship this spring through SUNY Oswego's Experience-Based Education program.

A senior majoring in philosophy-psychology, she interned with Counseling Services Center on the SUNY Oswego campus.

The Experience-Based Education program at Oswego places students in internships and career awareness opportunities that allow them to earn college credits while garnering valuable life experience.

Last year, more than a thousand Oswego students took part in experiential learning while working at hundreds of businesses, nonprofit agencies and government offices, not counting the hundreds of student teachers working in area schools.

Admission to SUNY Oswego is competitive. U.S. News Media Group counts SUNY Oswego among the top public regional universities in the North for 2014, and the Princeton Review includes Oswego in its 2014 college guidebook "The Best Northeastern Colleges," as well as its 2014 list of "best value" colleges and universities nationally.

A 153-year-old comprehensive college in the State University of New York system, Oswego enrolls about 8,300 students in its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Business; School of Communication, Media and the Arts; and School of Education.
