Lockport resident Mary Yaeger named Outstanding Senior at SUNY Oswego

2013 May 10

The Oswego Alumni Association has honored Mary Yaeger, a public relations major from Lockport, with its 2013 Outstanding Senior Award, recognizing a member of the SUNY Oswego graduating class who has been highly involved on campus while maintaining academic excellence.

The current president of the Public Relations Student Society of America's local chapter and co-president of Lambda Pi Eta, the communication honor society, Yaeger is also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa leadership honor society. She presented at the Quest research and creative activities symposium this year and the previous two years, and has been active in the Del Sarte Dance Club for four years.

Yaeger has served as a representative on the communication studies department Student Leadership Advisory Board and the advisory board of the Student Arts Fee for the School of Communication, Media and the Arts. She is the advanced public relations intern at the Compass student success center and marketing and wellness student manager at Cooper and Glimmerglass fitness centers.

She will attend Emerson College in Boston to pursue a master's degree in integrated marketing communications.

Admission to SUNY Oswego is competitive. U.S. News Media Group counts SUNY Oswego among the top public regional universities in the North for 2013, and the Princeton Review includes Oswego in its 2013 college guidebook "The Best Northeastern Colleges," as well as its 2013 list of "best value" colleges and universities nationally.

A 152-year-old comprehensive college in the State University of New York system, Oswego enrolls about 8,000 students in its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences; School of Business; School of Communication, Media and the Arts; and School of Education.
