Sean Paul Owen of Horseheads Part of Oswego Golf's Win at Home Tourney

Sean Paul Owen of Horseheads NY helped lead Oswego to its third first place finish in four events this season.

The Oswego State golf team had two different squads place first out of eight teams at its 19th Annual Fall Invitational, hosted at the Oswego Country Club on Monday afternoon. Oswego "A" and Oswego "B" both shot 317 in the 18-hole tournament, with Oswego "B" taking the crown by the way of the lowest score between each team's fifth-seeded golfer as the tiebreaker. Joshua Krause shot a plus-9 80 compared to Kyle McCloskey's 82 (+11).

Monday's medalist was Sean Paul Owen from Oswego "A", who shot a 73 (+2). That was the best score by three strokes, as Oswego "B"'s Nick Gramuglia scored a 76 to lead the winning group. Also in the top 5 for Oswego were Cody Weiss and Corey Marshall. Weiss tied for third with a 78 while Marshall was one-stroke back in a tie for fifth with a 79.

Rounding out each group's top-four scorers were Daniel Mort on "B" and Stu Winn for "A". Each shot a plus-12, 83 to close-out both groups' 317 (+33).

Its Oswego's third, first-place finish in four events this year. The Lakers will continue their great start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at the 45th Elmira College Fall Invitational.
